Inaugural RCGC vs Victoria GCR on Aug 16 and 17

GOLF: The inaugural junior golf championship between Royal Colombo Golf Club and Victoria Golf and Country Resort will be worked off at the picturesque Victoria golf course at Rajawella off Kandy next week on August 16th and 17th with the first tee off at 7.30 a.m.

This golf championship will be for golfers under the age of 17 years and there will be no divisions. It will be played for gross and Nett Championships. Both clubs have some good low handicappers who have been playing regularly and some exciting golf is in store.

The Victoria golf course is in fine fettle at present with little or no rain experienced but the greenery of the course has been maintained due to the hard work put in by its Course Manager Indu Rodrigo supported by the course staff under the guidance of the Australian born General Manager Errol Johnston.

The distribution of awards will take place in the afternoon on the second day on completion of the second round at the club house.
