Hybrid-latest addition to local auto market

Hybrid Motors Lanka Private Ltd, a subsidiary of Hybrid Motors Singapore has entered the Sri Lanka automobile market four years after its launch in Singapore.

Hybrid Motors Lanka (Pvt) Ltd chairman, Eddie Lo.

The company opened the state-of-the-art engineering centre in Sri Lanka last week. "We are having grand plans for Sri Lanka, we hope to educate and create greater awareness of hybrid technology, symmetrically increasing confidence levels of customers with quality maintenance for every hybrid car", said Chairman Hybrid Motors, Eddie Lo.

He said that Hybrid Motors Lanka will promote hybrid technology, which provides consistent and the finest maintenance facilities to hybrid car owners. The centre offers a range of services to customers.

Lo said that Hybrid Motors Singapore is one of the largest players in the automobile industry in Singapore with a paid up capital of SG $ 2m and is a leading importer and service provider for Hybrid, MPV (Multi purpose vehicles),SUV (Sports utility vehicles) and luxury cars.

Hybrid's marketing strategy in Sri Lanka is to become the most preferred brand for maintenance of Hybrid, MPV, SUV and Luxury cars joining the development process with the public and private sector.

Hybrid's Motor Singapore's main objective is to change the mindset of potential customers to the green car concept, whilst encouraging the government and other organisations to go for green vehicles, promoting hybrid technology in Sri Lanka.

They service 30 to 40 cars per day.

Future plans include promoting hybrid technology at public seminars while franchise businesses are planned for the future to enhance the confidence of customers with satellite workshops to be conducted islandwide.

Advantages of hybrid technology include minimising the number of trips to the petrol station, cutting edge driving technology, higher performance with low fuel consumption and a quiet drive experience.
