Sixty- first Esala festival at Bellanwila

The annual Esala festival of the Bellanwila Raja Maha Vihara organised by the Perahera Committee of the temple under the patronage of Ven. Prof. Bellanwila Vimalarathana Nayaka Thera will be held for the 61st consecutive year.

The festival began with the chanting of Sathi Pirith last Sunday and the Kap Situvima was held on Tuesday at the auspicious hour.

The Deva Dootha and the Kumbal Perahera was held yesterday and the Mal Perahera will parade the streets from today till August 24. The Pawada and the Ran Sivili perahera will parade the streets on August 25 and 26
