New church at Oliphant estate

Dr. Vianey Fernando, Bishop of Kandy inaugurated and declared opened the St. Anthoney's Church at Oilphant Estate, Nuwara Eliya where a large crowd of parishioners belonging to the Catholic denominations from different parts of the Nuwara Eliya area participated at the ceremony.

Bishop Vianey Fernando, called upon the large gathering present to ensure that all parishioners to get themselves united and work for the unity and peace of the country at large and the district in particular.

He blessed all those present and added that within a short spell of time the Rev.Fr.of St. Xaviers' church in Nuwara Eliya together with his assistant had done a yeoman service by renovating and developing the historical and ancient church of St. Paul the Hermit at Boralanda at Nuwara Eliya and also opening of the new St. Anthony's church at Oilphant Estate, Nuwara Eliya.
