UPFA finalises nomination lists for LG polls

The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has already finalised its nomination lists for the forthcoming Local Government elections, said UPFA General Secretary and Petroleum Development Minister Susil Premajayantha.

He said that all leaders of UPFA constituent parities reached agreement in the compilation of nomination lists at a meeting on Friday afternoon.

The UPFA General Secretary said that the nomination list for the Colombo Municipal Council includes several senior politicians and youth leaders.

The country is on the path to prosperity under President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s leadership. The UPFA comprises progressive-minded people’s representatives who could work for the betterment of the country.

The results of the forthcoming LG polls will be no different to the overwhelming victory gained at the earlier polls, he said.
