NDB Bank supports dairy farmers

The NDB Bank's SME loan scheme, Divi Aruna will support 30 dairy farmers in Wariyapola with the opening of its branch.

The Divi Aruna Loan Scheme aims at providing funds to develop the qualitiy of the community life, elevate their social standing and empower them to make the most of their entrepreneurial skills; and to be part of the rapid economic growth in post war Sri Lanka.

Vice President and Head of SME and Retail Banking Raj Aboobucker said, "We at NDB Bank pay attention to the microfinance sector.

The launch of the Divi Aruna Loan Scheme was aimed developing cottage industries with the objective of promoting livelihood development, bringing them into the banking sphere and to inculcate the savings habit. The main feature of this scheme is that loans are granted free of any collateral. Previously, NDB Divi Aruna was launched in Jaffna, Batticaloa, Ampara, Matara, Trincomalee and Chilaw districts.
