The first film of The Apu Trilogy, it depicts the childhood of the protagonist Apu in the rural countryside of Bengal in the 1920s. It features Subir Banerjee, Kanu Banerjee and Karuna Banerjee.

Rabindranath Tagore (Documentary in English) – Made by Stayajit Ray in 1961 to celebrate Tagore’s birth Centenary, this dramatized documentary features some deft cinematic touches of a master filmmaker that sets it apart from most biographical

Charulatha - Based upon the novella Nastanirh ("The Broken Nest") by Rabindranath Tagore. It features Soumitra Chatterjee, Madhabi Mukherjee and Sailen Mukherjee.
