Digital timetables at bus stops

The Private Transport Services Ministry has decided to fix digital timetables at bus stops. These timetables will be displayed round-the-clock at the bus stops for the convenience of a large number of passengers who travel daily, Ministry sources said. Minister C.B. Ratnayake took this decision following a request made by private bus operators during a discussion held at the Ministry recently between the Minister and private bus operators.

Various problems in private bus operations were brought to the attention of the Minister during the meeting. Taking legal action against drivers who violate the CTB-private joint timetable was discussed in depth. The Ministry has also decided to deploy a separate team to check the tickets issued in private buses, according to Ministry sources.
