Kumari bags a silver at Commonwealth Youth Games

Sri Lanka's Kumari Ratnayake won women's 400n silver medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Isle of Man in United Kingdom yesterday.

A student of St.Joseph's, Kegalle, Ratnayake clocked 56.28 seconds to finish second in women's 400m final worked off last night.

Incidentally it was the President of NOC of Sri Lanka Hemasiri Fernando who presented medals to the winners of this event.

AASL Vice President Prema Pinnawale said it was a great honour for Sri Lanka and Ratnayake's feat proves that Sri Lanka athletics is not starved of young talent.
