S'pore Airlines flies to Koh Samui
SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, launched its first
flight to Koh Samui,Thailand, on September 27.
The inaugural flight MI 772 departed from Singapore Changi Airport at
0810 hours and reached the idyllic Thai resort island at 0900 hours. The
return flight, MI 771, departed from Koh Samui at 1030 hours and reached
Singapore at 1325 hours on September 27.
Koh Samui is SilkAir's third destination in Thailand, after Phuket
and Chiang Mai, and the 36th destination in the airline's network. The
thrice-weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays are operated
with the A319 aircraft, featuring Business and Economy Class.
To mark the occasion, passengers on the first flight out of Singapore
were presented with a set of souvenirs from Koh Samui, comprising a coin
pouch made out of coconut husk and a selection of Thai candy, called
kalamae, in betel nut, coconut and pandan flavours. Passengers
travelling on the first flight out of Koh Samui received exclusively
produced SilkAir notebooks.

destinations. We are confident that many will enjoy this beautiful beach
destination which is renowned for its white sandy beaches and blue
inviting waters", said SilkAir's Chief Executive, Marvin Tan.
