Health Dept. win two titles

BADMINTON: The Health Department of the Central Province won two titles at the Central Province State Services Badminton Tournament organised by the Ministry of Sports held at the Peradeniya Gymnasium recently. Following are the results of the finals:

Age 20-30 Women - Champion: S. Palamakumbura (Health Dept.), Runner-up - D. Jayasinghe (Industries Dept.).

Men - Champion: U. Jayasuriya (Textiles Dept.), Runner-up - U. Jeewantha (Health Ministry).

Age 30-40 Women Champion: L. Ranaweera (Education Dept.), Runner-up - E. Sriyani (Engineering Services Dept.).

Men Champion: R. Arambepola (Road Development Dept.), Runner-up - J. Sampath Bandara (Textiles Dept.).

Age 40-50 Women Champion: J. Salwaturearachchi (Health Dept.), Runner-up - J. Ironika (Engineering, Services Dept.).

Men Champion: M. Wijesundara (Engineering Services Dept.), Runner-up - A. Jayawardena (Education Dept.).

Age 50-60 Women Champion: L. Karunanayake (Agricultural Dept.), Runner-up - C. Molagoda (Industries Development Department).

Men Champion: W. Perera (Co-operative Development Dept.), Runner-up - H. Wettasinghe (Co-operative Development Dept.).
