Ports Authority and Air Force win Super League VB Titles

VOLLEYBALL: The Sri Lanka Ports Authority defeated the Sri Lanka Army
25-23, 25-23, 26-24 while the Sri Lanka Air Force defeated the Sri Lanka
Bureau of Foreign Employment 16-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-16 to take the mens
and womens Super League Volleyball titles at the 27th Youth Services -
Rupavahini Volleyball Championships 2011 held at the indoor volleyball
courts of the University of Ruhuna in Matara on Friday.
The Sri Lanka Air Force and the Sri Lanka Navy took third spots. This
Volleyball tournament was organised by the National Youth Services
Council, Sri Lanka Rupavahini and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and
Skills Development.
The results of the Youth Championship is as follows. Boys

Youth Club Ruwanwella 4. United Youth club Naththandiya Girls
Championship
1. Slimline Youth Club 2. Luckey Sevens Youth Club Pothupitiya 3.
Wijayaba Youth Club Hungama 4. Merian’s Youth Club President of the
National Volleyball Federation Minister for Foreign Employment and
Welfare Dilan Perera and Minister for Youth Affairs and Skills
Development Dullas Alahapperuma gave away the trophies and cash awards.
The winners received Rs. One Hundred Thousand while the runners-up
received Rs. Seventy Five Thousand and Rs. Fifty Thousand was awarded
for the third place. |
