T. D. N. T. Jayakody of the Sri Lanka Air Force and Nilmini
Jayasinghe of MAS Southern won the Best Boxers Award for men and women
at the 85th National Boxing Championship concluded at the Sugathadasa
Indoor Stadium yesterday.

Kosala Nilmini (Red) (MAS Southen A) lands a left hook to K.

under 48 kgs weight category bout at the 85th National
Boxing Championship held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium
yesterday. Kosala Nilmini defeated K. M. de Silva on points. |
Jayakody defeated R. M. Gunathileka of Slimline in the light weight
under 60 kgs weight category while Nilmini Jayasinghe got the better of
P. K. Sumudu of the Sri Lanka Army in the women's light weight under 60
kgs weight category.
Slimline BC won the men's championship while MAS Southern won the
women's championship. Sri Lanka Army won the Best Team Award.
P. D. Suresh of Slimline 'A' was judged as the Most Scientific Boxer
in the meet.
