Major honours for Wesley

Wesley College, Colombo gained major honours in their inter school
under 19 drawn game against Prince of Wales College which was worked off
at Campbell Park, Colombo.
Continuing on at 84 for 2 on day two Weslyites were all out for 224
runs with Basith Musamil and Jonathan Caderamanpulle contributing 43 and
unbeaten 37 runs respectively. Jayanga Peiris bagged 3 for 37 for
Cambrians.
In their second essay Cambrians collapsed for a paltry 120 runs with
Suchira Fernando making the top score of 32 runs and Kusal Mendis
contributed 29 runs. Migara Wickramasinghe and Basith Musamil claimed
three wickets each.

Cambrians 'A' force a draw

Prince of Wales College 'A' drew with Wesley College 'A' in their
inter school second eleven cricket match worked off at Moratuwa.
Resuming at 54 for 3 in reply to Cambrian total of 280 for 8
declared. Weslyites were all out for 248 with Amayura Kaluarachchi
scoring a well deserved 91 runs and in their second essay at stumps
Cambrians were 133 for 9 with Ravindu Sasanka scoring 38 and Savin
Jayasena claiming 5 for 72 for the visitors.

A fine spell of spin blowing by Chamara Unamboowe who took 4 wickets
for 11 runs helped Kingwood College to get P.D.S. Kularatna MMV,
Ambalangoda out for 131 runs.
Kingswoodians were no runs without loss in 3 overs at close.
P.D.S. Kularatne MMV: 1st innings 131 all out in 37.3 overs (Prasanna
Eranga 39, Chamal Madusanka 35, K. Taraka 17, M.C. Unamboowe 4 for 11,

Thushara saves Ananda

A match saving 128 by Anandian Thushara Samarakoon (128) off 162
deliveries inclusive of sixteen fours and five sixes helped his side to
hold S.Thomas' Mount Lavinia to a draw in their school cricket encounter
played at Mount Lavinia yesterday.
S. Thomas' were set a victory targert of 175 off 9 overs and were 36
for no loss.
Ananda who were shot out for a paltry 84 in the first Innings
collected 277 for 9 declared with the aid of Samarakoon's century. He
was involved in a 139 run stand for the fourth wicket with Pasindu
Madushan (34).

Innings win for Trinity

A fine knock of 117 by skipper Niroshan Dickwella helped Trinity
College, Kandy to score an innings and 61 run win over St. Servatius
College, Matara in their schools under 19 cricket tournament match
concluded at Uyanwatte Esplanade yesterday.
This was Trinity's fifth outright win for the season and in line to
equal their last year's record of 10 wins which won them the award for
Best team in schools.
Niroshan Dickwella who has now passed the 500 run mark despite
missing a few matches due to junior national call had 16 fours and 1 six
in his 79 ball knock. He reached his century in 71 balls. Apart from
Dickwella last year Skipper Akila Jayasundera scored a quick 52 with 6
fours and 2 sixes which helped Trinity to reach 308 for 7 in only 49
overs, scoring at a rate of over 6 runs per over.
St. Servatius College: 141 all out in 66.1 overs (Sangika
Ridma 68, Gehan Nimsara 26, Madhushan Subendra 2 for 17, Alwin Fernando
4 for 22) and 106 all out in 36.3 overs (Gehan Nimsara 24, Yohan Chamika

tournament match concluded at, Balangoda yesterday.

An unbeaten 100 by Zahira's Lakshan Edirisinghe made out of 131
deliveries with nine fours and three sixes was the highlight of the
drawn school cricket encounter between Nalanda and Zahira played at
Maradana yesterday.
