Amith and Manori win Triathlon at Carlton Sports Festival

22-year-old Amith Udayakumara of the Sri Lanka Army and housewife T.G. Manori Kumari won the men’s and women’s Triathlon at Tissamaharam yesterday morning.

The second Triathlon organised by the ‘Tharunyata Hetak’ was part of the Carlton Sports Festival and worked off near the Tissa Tank.The winners of the Triathalon: Men: 1. B.K. Amith Udyakumar (21) 1:04.49, 2. Dilshan Ashen (49) 1:05.32, 3. R.G. Lalindra Kumara (34) 1:06.01.

Women: 1. T.G. Manori Kumari (63) 1:14.25, 2. A.P. Eshara Nilmini (62) 1:28.26, 3. M.P.M. Rupawathy (60) 1:30.24.Meanwhile Amal Suranga and Sudarika Priyadarshani of the Sri Lanka Air Force won the men’s and women’s open events at the Mountain Bike Cyclo Cross 2012 held at the Carlton Super Sport Festival at Tissamaharama on Friday. The others to win their events were:

Under-10 boys: K.G. Adeepa Udantha.
Under-10 girls: A.H. Sithari Chathurya.
Under-13 boys: Keshan Shamika Senadheera.
Under-13 girls: J.A. Nadeeka Dilrukshi.
Under-16 boys: J.A. Supun Tharaka.
Under-16 girls: W.P. Ishani Chathurika.
Under-19 boys: M. Nidush Nirantha Fernando. Under-19 girls: P.A. Pavithra Pabodhini.
