More SriLankan flights to India

SriLankan Airlines is planning to launch flights to Ahmedabad from Colombo as well as restarting services to Calicut and Goa. The airline had stopped the Calicut and Goa operations during FY 2008-09.

Lalith Peiris, Area Manager - Maharashtra, SriLankan Airlines, revealed that the airline currently had load factors of 70-80 percent on the Indian routes and is looking to tap MICE traffic from India. "Our focus is on corporate travellers from India. We will target MICE and corporate travellers from Tier-I and Tier-II cities in India," he said.SriLankan Airlines is also aiming to increase capacity on its Indian routes in 2012 by bringing in new aircraft.
