Cambrians in stunning win over Ananda

Prince of Wale's College beat formidable Ananda College, Colombo by nine wickets and Cambrians were home for tea and match ending at 2.20 pm in their inter-school under-19 cricket match worked off at Moratuwa.

Cambrians who beat the strong Peterites after ten years a fortnight back and lost to Richmondites after a lapse of forty years bounced back to beat more fancied Ananda College thus giving ample evidence that "Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties".

Resuming at 205 for 5 on day two Cambrians were all out for 231 with Skipper Tarindu Dilshan making 61 runs and Ishan Bandaranayake claiming 4 for 44. In their second essay Anandians were bundled out for a paltry 104 runs with a fine bowling spell of 5 for 30 from Shanuka Dulaj who had a match bag of 8 for 47. Thilan Nimesh too had a good spell with 4 for 47 giving him a match bag of 7 for 95 set to make 32 runs for victory. Cambrians notched up the required score for the loss of one wicket.

Ananda: 160 and 104 (Dasun Wijesinghe 21, Thushara Samarajeewa 20, Shanuka Dulaj 5/30, Thilan Nimesh 4/47)

Prince of Wale's: 232 (Tarindu Dilshan 61, Ishan Bandaranayake 4/44, Pasindu Madushan 2/56 and 33/1 - Kusal Mendis 23 n/o).
