Tussle hots up - Jayasinghe creeps up to top slot in Outstation Contest

MOST POPULAR SCHOOLBOY CRICKETER CONTEST: The tussle for the first two places in both categories All-Island and Outstation is steaming up in the Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer Of The Year Contest 2012 at the end of count number 6.Thurstan’s Ashan Wanigaratne (15,769) who was placed first last week managed to maintain his top position with a lead of 266 votes over Josephian Sadeera Samarawickrema (15,503) who was placed second last week.

Likewise, in the Outstation competition too, Maris Stella’s Angelo Jayasinghe climbed to the top position polling 9,304 votes, pushing Ruwan Bandara of Vidyartha College, Kandy to second place with 8,989 votes. Jayasinghe had a majority of 315 votes.
