The sixth Annual Battle of the 'Golds' between D.S. Senanayake

major honours at the SSC grounds yesterday.

was bowled out for 171 with Harith Maduwantha taking 5 for 58. Pavan
Devinda (38), Duleeka Tissakuttige (39) and Chatura Jayasinghe were the

Following on with a deficit of 105 runs Mahanama was in trouble when
they were 92 for 4 at one stage, but a fifth wicket stand of 95 between
Janaka Dayananda (55) and Pavan Devinda (41) steadied the Innings as
they brought the score from 92 for 4 to 187 for 5. With the dismissal of
Pavan Devinda, Mahanama lost their way losing 4 wickets for 10 runs.
Spinner Suchintha Karunaratne was the bowler who triggered the collapse
taking 3 for 48 ably supported by Harith Maduwantha who took 2 for 58,
including the wicket of Janaka Dayananda (55 facing 33 deliveries with
six fours and three sixes) who was shaping well for a big score.
