Hemas Hospital Thalawathugoda ready by 2013

Construction work on the Hemas multi-speciality hospital in Thalawathugoda has commenced. Rs. 1b has been invested for the construction. Occupying one acre of land on the major arterial road in Thalawathugoda, the 50-bed hospital will serve the community around Thalawathugoda, Battaramulla, Pannipitiya and the surrounding areas. The project is to be completed by mid 2013. Equipped with a 24-hour emergency unit, MRI, CT facilities, a modern laboratory, an ICU, a radiology centre along with specialised operating theatres and labour rooms.

The hospital will be equipped to handle surgery, internal medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology and provide emergency and ICU services to critically ill patients. Specialists and Consultants nursing and clinical staff will be at hand to deal with patients.

Director of the Project, Linus Jeganathan said "With the fast growing population in and around Thalawathugoda, a multi-speciality private hospital in the area has become a necessity. With this in mind, a sustainable model has been followed in the hospital design to blend with the surrounding area. Our hospital design has been inspired by some of the best international hospitals."
