Statues of labour stalwarts unveiled

Antler Fabric Printers (Pvt) Ltd recently unveiled five statues of
labour stalwarts at the company's factory premises at Jamburaliya in
Piliyandala to coincide with May Day.
The company which commenced business in Piliyandala in 1979 with only
four workers currently employs 1,100.
Antler Fabric Printers, Chairman, Ananda Jayasinghe told the Sunday
Observer that the Company depends on the workforce and it was their duty
to recognise the services, rendered by workers. "I was encouraged to
felicitate the workers and erect five statues at the factory premises to
coincide with International May Day".
Chairman Jayasinghe also thanked Labour Minister Gamini Lokuge for
erecting statues to felicitate labour stalwarts for the first time in a
factory in his electorate Kesbewa.
He said the company has carried out fabric printing with MAS
Holdings, Brandix and Hydramani.
