Amadahara Vesak Zone - today and tomorrow

The 22nd edition of the Amadahara Vesak Zone organised annually by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd (ANCL) will be held today and tomorrow in the ANCL precints.

Sri Lanka Telecom will extend its patronage this year too as the main sponsor.

The Vesak lantern exhibition and competition and Buddhist devotional songs will be the highlights of the program.

Attractive prizes are on offer for the winners of the lantern competition. Derana will broadcast the proceedings live.

ANCL Chairman and Managing Director Bandula Padmakumara and members of the Board of Directors opened the Vesak Zone yesterday.

Economic Development Deputy Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs Deputy Minister M.K.D.S. Gunawardena and Media Ministry Secretary W.B. Ganegala will open the Vesak Zone today and tomorrow. The Presidential Secretariat in association with the Mass Media and Information Ministry has organised Buddhabhivandana, a presentation of devotional songs at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Colombo from 6.30 p.m. today.
