Lumbini enters semi-finals

Lumbini Vidyalaya booked a berth in the semi-finals of the Inter School Under 15 Division One Cricket Tournament organised by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association when they beat Thurstan College, Colombo by six wickets. This is the first instance in the history of Lumbini Vidyalaya cricket that an Under 15 Division One team entering the semi-finals and this is due to the effort of their coach Dinesh Weerasinghe.

Thurstan electing to bat were 189 for 9 in their alloted fifty overs and Pasan Fernando made 62 runs while Vimukthi Ellegoda claimed 4 for 36 for Lumbini.

Thurstan: 189 for 9 in 50 overs (Kasun Adeerathne 45, Pasan Fernando 62, Dananjaya Weerarathne 22, Charith Mihiranga 2/51, Vimukthi Ellegoda 4/26, Mohamed Akram 2/10).

Lumbini: 192/4 in 42.3 overs (Vimukthi 42, Shanuka Dabare 76, Charith Mihiranga 25, Mohamed Akram 12 n.o., Akila Ranatunge 2/16).
