Navy ready to salvage Lionair wreckage
The Sri Lanka Navy yesterday said it was ready to
salvage the underwater wreckage of the Lionair flight that was found
near the Iranathivu island, north of Mannar, in a search operation
last week. The Navy Spokesman Comm. Kosala Warnakulasuriya said if a
request is made by the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID)
officials investigating the plane crash,

Boy's cold-blooded killing baffles police
Three killings were reported from different
parts of the country making headlines in newspapers last week. Of
the three killings two can be attributed to sudden provocation while
the third was a premeditated killing, the Police Media Spokesman SSP
Ajith Rohana told the Sunday Observer.
