Equipment launched to protect appliances from lightning

LECO Projects (Pvt) Ltd has introduced four electronic equipment to protect the electric and electronic appliances from lightning and thunder.

The equipment was introduced in the presence of Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka recently.

All domestic electrical appliances should be used with care during lightning and thunder, LECO Projects, which is affiliated to LECO Private Limited pointed out.

The threat is there even in mild weather conditions, LECO Projects Engineering Division Chief, Narendra de Silva pointed out.Manager Operations, LECO Anushka Kumarasinghe said single phase electricity line safety equipment, three phase electricity line safety equipment, telephone and Internet safety equipment and multi-communication safety equipment have been introduced.Other equipment too will be introduced in future. The newly introduced equipment will help protect electronic and electric appliances in the home and office, he said.
