Malay Language Day: Applications called for contests
The Conference of Sri Lankan Malays (COSLAM) for the 7th year in
succession has made arrangements to observe HARI BAHASA MELAYU [Malay
Language Day] on Sunday January 6, next year in an effort to encourage
and popularize the use of the language amongst Malays and other
interested persons in Sri Lanka.
In this connection, COSLAM has organised competitions in Malay
Language, essay writing and oratory, where persons in the age groups of
Under 12, Under 17, Under 21 and Open categories could
compete.Application Forms could be obtained by sending a self-addressed
stamped envelope to: Gen. Secretary, COSLAM, No. 8/22, Kotte Road, Pita
Kotte.
Applications close on 20th November 2012.
The competitions will be held on POYA DAY, 27th November 2012 at four
centres, viz. (1) Zahira College, Colombo 10 (2) Badiudin Mahmud Balika
Vidyalaya, Kandy (3) Zahira College, Hambantota and (4) Fathima Balika
Vidyalaya, Puttalam commencing at 10 a.m.
