500 dogs vaccinated in Kataragama

West Care animal hospital and Adopt A Dog in Sri Lanka, have launched a program for giving anti rabies injections and sterilising 500 dogs in Kataragama recently. Leader of the veterinary surgeons Dr. Dhananjaya Karunaratne said that they selected Kataragama sacred city for this purpose as it is famous among the local and foreign devotees.

Dhananjaya said that they have already given anti rabies injections and sterilized more than 500 dogs.These activities are done inside an air conditioned mobile surgery and after operations the dogs are given food and released to their usual places after giving them a mark.
