The Chairman and Managing Director of EOAS Organics (Pvt) Limited, D.A. Perera was presented with two international awards for Excellence in Export of Value-Added Pepper and Excellence in the Manufacture of Innovative Products of Pepper by the IPC (International Pepper Community).

This is the third consecutive year that EOAS Organics has won this award.

The international conference of the IPC for 2012 was held in Sri Lanka recently with more than 400 participants.

A spokesman for the company said, "Currently the company has its own manufacturing facility covering nearly 40,000 square feet. The company is committed to quality and safety of its products and stringent quality control measures are built into processing operations."

"It also has a modern laboratory manned by dedicated and qualified staff who constantly monitor and test products at all levels. The company manufactures a wide range of value added forms of almost all types of spices grown in Sri Lanka."

"The company went into organic essential oil business in 1999 with Organic Certification from Skal International of the Netherlands," he said.

"Recently EOAS commissioned its own super critical fluid extraction facility for the manufacture of Essential Oils and Oleoresins. EOAS has its own corporate policy which involves one basic objective. To enhance and sustain the company's reputation for quality and consistency of its products by continuously meeting the needs of our customers," the spokesman said.

"EOAS manages a large outgrower network of farmers for different types of organic spices in spice growing areas. It provides farmers with the guidelines of organic farming practices, organic manure and free extension services and finally purchases the produce at a premium price.

The company guarantees a regular income for outgrowers. EOAS considers this as a social responsibility towards the helping the needy. EOAS also has its own plantation which covers an acreage of about 200 hectares," he said.
