Virtusa records 30% growth in employment
Virtusa recorded a 30 percent growth in employment this year in its
global business, said an official of Virtusa Corporation at a
photographic exhibition held at the company premises. He said that
global business had grown many fold this year and added that the company
hopes to expand its operations. “Sri Lanka is a huge market for Virtusa
and we are geared to harness the full potential of the business in the
country with our innovative products,” he said.
Virtusa's is a global Information Technology (IT) services company
providing IT consulting, technology implementation and outsourcing
services. Its revenue for the last financial year was US$ 278 m. The
company's has 2,000 global entities as clients spread across UK, USA,
Europe, Middle East, India and Sri Lanka. The company has won many local
and international accolades.
Virtusa held the 'Silver Pixels' a global photographic exhibition
which showcased the photographic skills of employees of Virtusa for the
eighth consecutive year. At this year's exhibition they captured
photographs under the categories of people, places, nature and
millennium. Twenty photographers were selected from around 200 entries.
Virtusa Sri Lanka Head of Human Resource Management, Sanjeev
Palithawardana said that programs of this nature will help harness the
talent of young dynamic photographers across all Virtusa offices in the
country.
The winners of this years exhibition were Dinoo Perera, Rasika
Withanage, Aruna Dissanayake in the 'People' category, Saman Dayananda,
Mohamed Ifham Uwais, Sukitha Udugamasooriya, in the 'Places' category,
Thilina Adrian Dharmaratne, Surendra Silva, Anjana Chandrapala in the
'Nature' category and Shian Chinthaka, Chandu Godabedda and Shehara
Silva in the 'Millennium' category.
