Sri Lanka Telecom Rainbow Pages launched mobile app on Android."We
have launched associated products to provide a comprehensive service to
customers and this latest service will be upgraded with more facilities
in the near future. The mobile app will be of use to customers as the
mobile phone has become an important part of our day-to-day life," SLT
VisionCom (Pvt) Ltd and SLT Publications (Pvt) Ltd, Chief Executive
Officer Malraj Balapitiya said.
The Rainbow Pages has become a growing entity with plans to add more
innovation to its service line-up, he said at the launch held last week
in Colombo.
The mobile app facility is also available to non SLT customers who do
not have access to the printed version of the directory. "These
innovations have bridged the gap between customers and product and
service suppliers. The Android operating system has become the most
widely used smartphone operating system in the world", he said.
"We expect these innovative solutions to help generate additional
revenue from banner and other promotional offers," Balapitiya said.
"The mobile app service sets a new paradigm for the industry. The
user-friendly directory with comprehensive information supports and
promotes business organisations proving optimum visibility and
accessibility", he said.
The Rainbow Pages, the publisher of the comprehensive national
business directory celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Among the
innovative applications introduced are print directory, web directory,
CD directory, mobile web directory, e-directory, call centre service and
Peo TV making the mobile app to be the eighth product in its service
range.
More services will be launched shortly such as a wedding directory
and a tourist directory. Organisation specific directories including
membership directories are also on the cards. The second stage of the
mobile app will include more general information.
