Lankan wins, West Sussex by-election
Sri Lankan born-Sujan Wickremaratchi, a member of UK's Ruling
Conservative Party has won the Hayward's Heath-West Sussex by-election.
He has been voted in by the Residents of Ashenground Ward as Town
Councillor.
The first Asian and Sri Lankan to win in West Sussex, Wickremaratchi
has been nominated for County Council Elections in the area for May 2013
election, as well.
He is a Director at Warden Park Academy, a leading academy School in
West Sussex, and is Chairman of its Standards Committee. He is also the
Vice Chairman of Conservative Party Membership in the area.
Wickremaratchi was educated at S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia. He is
married with two children. He is the only son of the Late Lalith De
Silva (Deputy Chief Accountant) of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and
Ruth Jayatilake.
