Old Peterites remembered

The '87-92 Old Peterites Group has embarked on a project at St. Peter's College, Colombo 4 to remember their schoolmates who had sacrificed their lives for the motherland. The monument was unveiled by Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonethilleke, an old boy of the College along with his wife Nelun.

Rev. Father Travis Gabriel, Rector, St. Peter's College, Priests, President, Old Boys' Union, Dr. Nilhan Samaranayaka, President Old Peterites' Group '87-92 Shan Jaleel, staff and relatives of the deceased were present.

The project was the collective effort of the '87-92 Group and most of these heroes had been their classmates, who had made their Alma Mater proud.

Lindsay Melder mooted the idea. Wing Commander Amal Dias, the Project Chairman said that the project was timely in November as the month was dedicated to all souls.
