dream for complete liberation and freedom.
The letter addressed to the Sri Lankan President by Eng. Mahmoud
Abdullah, President of the Palestine-Sri Lanka Friendship and
Cooperation Society stated, as in the past, friends and enemies of
Palestinians and Sri Lankans are the same.
He added, "We are all victims of imperialists, greedy capitalists and
Zionists who are using State terrorism as a weapon to prevent our two
peoples enjoying real democracy and freedom."
Here is the full text of the letter addressed to President Mahinda
Rajapaksa:
Your Excellency, In the name of Palestine-Sri Lanka Friendship and
Cooperation Society (PSLFCS) in the State of Palestine and on behalf of
our members, I convey to Your Excellency our gratitude and
acknowledgment of your continuous support to the Palestinian cause in
general and your complete support to the Palestinian diplomatic effort
in upgrading the Palestinian status to non-member observer state in the
United Nations.
In Palestine we always consider your beautiful country Sri Lanka, a
solid and permanent friend and supporter in the fulfillment of our dream
for complete liberation and freedom.
This makes us wish Your Excellency personally and the people of Sri
Lanka in general, continuous success in the field of reconciliation,
development and better living conditions for your people, who suffered
for over thirty years from terror and war.
Your Excellency, as in the past friends and enemies of Palestinians
and Sri Lankans are the same. Therefore our friendship and cooperation
will help both parties in achieving the best for our peoples. We are all
victims of imperialists, greedy capitalists and Zionists who are using
State terrorism as a weapon to prevent our two peoples enjoying real
democracy and freedom.
Finally, on behalf of the Palestinian-Sri Lankan Friendship and
Cooperation Society we thank you personally for your strong support and
the firm position towards Palestine. We also take this opportunity to
invite you to visit the new State of Palestine in the near future.
