Access Engineering's 'Think Green' campaign concludes

Access Engineering PLC concluded a four-day e-waste management program recently.

The program 'Green economy through e-waste management' is part of Access Engineering's 'More than bricks and steel' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program was conducted with Ceylon Waste Management (Pvt) Ltd, a BOI approved organisation for waste recycling in the country. Over 4.3 tonnes of electrical and electronic waste was collected during this period.

The program collected many unusable electrical and electronic waste items which varied from computer peripherals, household electronic items, audio and video equipment, bulbs and batteries.

While the public was invited to drop their e-waste at the Access Towers car park or its Projects Office in Boralesgamuwa, the company also offered free pick-up of e-waste over 20 kg from homes or offices and presented tokens of appreciation to all those who supported the cause.

This is the second e-waste management program conducted by Access Engineering, which complements the on-going paper recycling program and awareness-building programs for employees and their families, a part of their 'Think Green' campaign.
