EDEX 2013 from Friday

Over 350 employers and educational institutes will showcase career and higher education opportunities for school-leavers at the EDEX 2013 exposition which will be held from January 18 to 20 in Colombo and from January 25 to 26 in Kandy.

Over 200 foreign universities from 21 countries will participate in the exhibition either directly or through local representatives, showcasing globally competitive education opportunities.

EDEX organisers say early awareness of career and tertiary educational opportunities and vocation education will allow young people to find employment quickly and match the needs of a growing economy. According to the EDEX organisers, an annual exhibition will be conducted in the middle of the year from 2013, to further reduce the time taken by school leavers to choose their career or tertiary education paths.

This exhibition will focus on higher educational opportunities for post-Advanced Level examinations or university entrance and high school certificate examination students who will be just out of school. The exhibition in January captures the post-Ordinary Level and post-A/L student population. The mid-year exhibition will be held on August 31 and September 1 in Colombo.
