Laugfs to enter hospitality industry

Laugfs Leisure Ltd, a subsidiary of Laugfs Holdings, held a foundation laying ceremony for its 110-room luxury hotel in Pasikudah recently.

“Construction at Pasikudah is underway. Laugfs has invested Rs. 2.5 b. The hotel will be built with state-of-the-art amenities and will offer five-star services and amenities, including 10 luxury villas, while maintaining four-star affordability, in keeping with the Laugfs corporate philosophy of under-promising and over-delivering in terms of quality” a spokesman for Laugfs said and its commercial opening will take place in June 2014.

“The development in Pasikudah will be part of a concerted push by Laugfs into Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, with the Group now carrying out simultaneous development in strategic tourist hot-spots across the country including Chilaw, Kalutara and possibly Negombo”, a spokesman for Laugfs said.

Laugfs Leisure’will construct an 87-roomed hotel on 16 acres of real-estate in chilaw.
