Laugfs to enter hospitality industry
Laugfs Leisure Ltd, a subsidiary of Laugfs Holdings, held a
foundation laying ceremony for its 110-room luxury hotel in Pasikudah
recently.
“Construction at Pasikudah is underway. Laugfs has invested Rs. 2.5
b. The hotel will be built with state-of-the-art amenities and will
offer five-star services and amenities, including 10 luxury villas,
while maintaining four-star affordability, in keeping with the Laugfs
corporate philosophy of under-promising and over-delivering in terms of
quality” a spokesman for Laugfs said and its commercial opening will
take place in June 2014.
“The development in Pasikudah will be part of a concerted push by
Laugfs into Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, with the Group now carrying
out simultaneous development in strategic tourist hot-spots across the
country including Chilaw, Kalutara and possibly Negombo”, a spokesman
for Laugfs said.
Laugfs Leisure’will construct an 87-roomed hotel on 16 acres of
real-estate in chilaw.
