Alumex Group marks 25 years
The Alumex Group marked 25 years of operations in the aluminium
profile manufacturing business and felicitated stakeholders recently.
“We are extremely happy to be the market leader with over 50 percent
of market share in the country. We have our presence not only in Sri
Lanka but export to the Maldives, India and Bangladesh with a few
containers going to Australia as well. The company plans to increase its
footprint in the global market by improving competitiveness,” Alumex,
Managing Director, Rohan Peiris said.
The company has identified the need for industry-related training and
conducts in-house training and courses for outsiders. The continuous
professional development programs aims at improving knowledge of the
industry.
“We will continue to expand and invest in upgrading our technology
and products. With plans to become the best production centre in South
Asia, Alumex will set up an advanced design centre at Ccity, the
one-stop-shop for construction needs,” he said. Alumex has been the
strategic sponsor for the Sri Lanka Architects Exhibition for three
consecutive years.
Ten of the Group’s best dealers received a paid vacation to Malaysia
while the company also distributed aluminium cutting machines, drills
and tool boxes to winners of a competition organised by Alumex in
October last year.
Alumex which commenced operations in 1988, is a subsidiary of the
Hayleys Group. It has since increased production to over 1,200 metric
tons catering to the commercial, domestic and manufacturing industries.
