Top A/L achievers felicitated

and Rusiru Gambheeraarachchi from Rajapaksa Vidyalaya,
Weeraketiya who topped the list in the GCE Advanced Level
examination in the Biology and Mathematics streams, Upeksa
Sewwandhi and Seshani Gunathilaka of Devi Balika Vidyalaya,
Colombo who topped in the Arts and Commerce streams with the
President at “Temple Trees”. |
President Mahinda Rajapaksa congratulated the students who secured
first, second and third places in the Arts, Science, Biology, Commerce
and IT streams in the GCE Advanced Level Examination 2012 and commended
their excellent performances at Temple Trees yesterday.
The President expressing his satisfaction said that students in the
villages have now been able to secure prominent places like their
counterparts in the cities.
He said this is what the government would expect from students.
President Rajapaksa requested from all students to fulfil their utmost
responsibility to the motherland by being true patriots.
The National Savings Bank (NSB) offered scholarships for a period of
four years and the President presented laptop computers to the students.

Duminda Dissanayake, Chief of Presidential Staff Gamini Senarath, NSB
Chairman Sunil S. Sirisena, Principals, teachers and parents were also
present.
