Sparkling century by Peterite Janith Liyanage

A fine century struck in the second innings by Peterite Janith
Liyanage (112) with sixteen fours and four sixes was the highlight in
the drawn school cricket encounter between St. Peter's and S. Thomas'
played at Bambalapitiya yesterday.
In reply to the Peterites first innings score of 242, the Thomians
were 104 for 4 overnight, aided by two good innings by Thilaksha
Sumanasiri (61) and skipper Madushan Ravichandrakumar (59) they reached
228 for 9 declared.
The Peterites declared their second innings 214 for 7 wickets Janith
Liyanage (112) being ably supported by Shashen Fernando 44, Dushan
Hemantha (30).
Chasing a victory target of 228 in 34 overs in their second innings
the Thomians were in a spot of bother losing 3 for 55, but a 76 run
unbroken stand for the third wicket between Nipuna Gamage (57 n.o.) and
Thilaksha Sumanasiri (52 n.o.) helped them recover.
