Channel 4 theatrics bares magnitude of conspiracy
by Uditha Kumarasinghe
Leader
of the House and Irrigation and Water Management Minister Nimal Siripala
de Silva said the latest British Channel 4 theatrics which coincides
with the ongoing UNHRC sessions in Geneva bares the magnitude of the
international conspiracy hatched against Sri Lanka and the UPFA
Government.
Channel 4 has churned out another video footage to coincide with the
ongoing UNHRC sessions.
The Government firmly believes that this is yet another ploy by
Channel 4 to mislead the international community. Today anybody can do
wonders with modern technology. At times when people see them, they tend
to believe it. But all these are mere creations, the Minister told the
Sunday Observer.
Some of the emotional visuals in the latest Channel 4 video do not
give the exact picture as they are mere creations.
The Security Forces have taken objection to those visuals. They have
categorically said that no such incidents occurred during the last few
days of the war against terrorists, the Minister said.
The Government has consistently said that there is a conspiracy
hatched against Sri Lanka in the international arena.
Channel 4 also came up with this kind of concocted video footage to
coincide with earlier UNHRC sessions too. But we had sent some experts
to Geneva and explained that these are mere creations by LTTE front
organisations.
The issue then ended and nobody spoke about Channel 4 for the past
one year. But they have again created another video footage to coincide
with the ongoing UNHRC sessions in Geneva. |
