‘Festival of Blessings’ from March 15 - 17

The Jesus Lives Evangelical Ministry will celebrate the 35th annual ‘Festival of Blessings 2013’ from March 15 - 17 at 5.00 p.m. at the Galle Face Green,.

The prayers and messages will be rendered by Prof. M.R. Rajendram and Bro. C.V. Rajendram.

Aurora 13 at Gangaramaya on March 8, 9

Aurora 13, an exhibition of technological inventions by Ananda College Young Inventors Society will be held on March 8, 9 under the patronage of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa at ‘Kala Duwa’, Gangaramaya.

Over 200 participants from 100 schools will take part which is open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm.

The Society was adjudged the Best School Inventors Society by President Mahinda Rajapaksa and it also bagged the award for the school with highest number of exhibits at the All Island Inventors Competition ‘Sahasak Nipeyum’ held recently.

Hartley College PPA 75th anniversary

The 75th anniversary celebrations of the Hartley College Past Pupils’ Association, Colombo Branch will be held at the BMICH, Colombo on Saturday, March 16 at 6 p.m. with a cultural program.

Head of the Methodist Mission in Colombo, Rev. Dr. A.W. Jebanesan will be the chief guest.

The 40th anniversary of the Alumni Association (Management) Vidyodaya will be celebrated on March 16 from 9.00 a.m. at Shalika Hall, Narahenpita, followed by a get-together.

Brain surgery

Ashirwada Pahan, an IT student of the University of Colombo and a former student of Janadhipathi Vidyalaya, Maharagama is on a heart-lung machine and awaiting brain surgery.

He is under treatment at the Central Hospital (Norris Canal Road) under Dr. Sunil Perera and the estimated cost is approximately Rs. 4-5 million. His father appeals for funds to save Pahan’s life.
