A dream come true for students

The Marachchikattuwa Junior School, Puttlam is the only school in the Puttlam Education Zone for the poor to educate their children.

However the students were unable to engage in studies because the building was dilapidated, with not even a roof.

The Principal of the School, Ms. J.A. Susila and the School Development Society informed the situation to the Ministry of Education - Youth Affairs and Skills Development Monitoring M.P. Mohan Lal Grero.

The Mohan Lal Grero Foundation has set up a program to redevelop small schools which are on the verge of closing down. Under the program with the cooperation of "Singha Cement" Chairperson Dammika Kariyawasam and donors' contribution, the Mohan Lal Grero Foundation built a new building for the students which was handed over recently.

The Principal, J.A. Susila, teachers, donors, members of the School Development Society and parents participated on the occasion.
