North, North Western and Central Provinces next week, a spokesman

TNA not keen to solve Northern problem – S.B. Dissanayake
Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake said
the TNA has no genuine desire to seek a solution to the problems
faced by people in the North. If the problem remains unsettled it
would be ideal for the TNA for its political survival. Political
parties may have their own stand on this issue, but they should
participate in the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) and discuss
it at the PSC.

SLMC to contest three PCs alone
The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), a
constituent partner of the UPFA will contest the September 21 polls
to the three Provincial Councils independently under its ‘tree’
symbol. Discussions are under way to pick prospective candidates and
chief ministerial candidates, the party’s General Secretary M.T.

Urban city centres will boost income
The prime objective of developing urban city
centres is to facilitate people to have more business opportunities
and increase their income generation, Defence and Urban Development
Ministry Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa said on Friday. He said all
