Three writers to be felicitated

Gunasena Vithana	T. Gnanasekaran	Nayima Siddique

A ceremony to felicitate three well-known writers, Gunasena Vithana, T. Chandrasekaran and Nayima Siddique who immensely contributed to ethnic harmony will be held on July 27 at 4 p.m. at the Tamil Union Hall Wellawatte, Colombo 6. It is organised by the Sinhala-Tamil Writers' Association together with the National Languages and Social Integration Ministry will be chaired by ANCL Editorial Director and veteran media personality, Seelaratne Senarath. Literary personalities, Madulugiriye Wijeratne, Teliwattai Joseph and writer Padma Somakanthan will deliver the commemorative lecture.


 

Ruvan Tharaka Miyasi Sendeva

Visharada Bandara Athavuda will present his solo musical show titled Ruvan Tharaka Miyasi Sendeva at the Musaeus College auditorium, Colombo 7 on July 20 at 7 p.m.

Bandula Nanayakkarawasam is the creative director of the show. It will be compered by Vasantha Rohana and Nishanthi Salpitikorala.

Athavuda's latest CD Dahasak Pipimal will also be launched on this occasion.







 

George Pulimood Memorial Oration

The annual Susan George Memorial Oration of Visakha Vidyalaya, will be held on July 23 at 5.15 p.m. at the Jeremias Dias Hall of the school.

The oration will be delivered by Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Chairman of the National Task Force Kamalini De Silva for the prevention of Trafficking in Persons.

The subject of the oration will be "Tears on Glass", gender-based violence and trafficking of women.
