Prelate on Dhamma tour of Europe, N. America

Ven. Uda-Iriyagama Dhammajeewa Thera, Chief Preceptor of the Mitirigala Nissarana Vanaya, one of Sri Lanka's best known meditation monasteries and founded in 1967 by Asoka Weeraratna (later known as Ven. Mitirigala Dhammnisanthi Thera), is currently on a Dhamma tour of several western countries - England, Ireland, Germany, USA and Canada.

The tour commenced on May 30 and would conclude on August 20. The Thera will conduct meditation retreats, deliver sermons and take part in Buddhist seminars during the course of this Dhamma tour. Ven. Dhammajeeva visited Das Buddhistische Haus (Berlin Vihara) in Germany from June 25 - June 30, and conducted a meditation retreat.

On July 1, he left Germany for USA accompanied by Tissa Weeraratna, Manager of Das Buddhistisches Haus and Vice - President of the German Dharmaduta Society, which owns (through its Trustees) and maintains Das Buddhistisches Haus.

Ven. Dhammajeeva Thera is now in Florida, USA, on a 12-day (July 8 - 21) Meditation Retreat in Fruitland Park, Florida.
