Hashan's son Ravindu in Sri Lanka under-17 team
None of former Sri Lanka Test captains has produced a son to
represent the country at Sri Lanka at any level. But the lean run will
be soon broken when one of former Sri Lanka captain Hashan
Tillakaratne's twin sons Ravindu Tillekaratne represents Sri Lanka
Under-17 team.

Ravindu Tillekeratne |
Thomian cricketer Ravindu Tillakaratne has been included in the Sri
Lanka Under-17 team for the forthcoming tour of England starting next
month.
Ravindu, a left-arm Chinaman and a useful lower order batsman,
represented S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia with distinction during the
recently concluded First X1 inter-school season. It will be interesting
to see whether Ravindu could emulate his father who had made an immense
contribution to Sri Lanka cricket in the international arena as captain
and a dependable middle order batsman.
The Sri Lanka Under-17 team will be captained by a player who had
been in Ravindu's rival team at the 134th Battle of the Blues encounter
- Chamika Karunaratne of Rpyal College, Colombo, who was the 'Big Match
hero' with a match-bag of nine wickets in the 134th big match.
Chamika Karunaratne is the youngest brother of Sri Lanka Olympic
shuttler Niluka Karuanaratne, who was the overall captain of the Sri
Lanka contingent for 2012 London Olympic Games.
