Sri Lanka's foremost food and hospitality trade show for 2013,
Culinary Art 2013 will be held at the BMICH Exhibition Centre from
August 2-5. The Chefs Guild of Lanka will present the 15th edition of
Culinary Art.
The event has gained recognition as “the premier meeting place for
industry professionals which showcases products and services that range
from raw materials to finished food products and equipment”.
The Chairman of the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka, Gerard Mendis said that
the show would be the biggest culinary show in Asia. Today Sri Lankans
as culinary chefs have not only done well for themselves but also made
Sri Lanka proud. Today's chefs are icons who take on the challenge of
taking Sri Lankan cuisine to the international arena.
The Culinary Art show with its many diverse competition categories
carries more than 30 trophies and there will be around 2,000 partipants.
Over 32 judges have been invited for this year's show. Culinary Art 2013
will include hotels, hotel schools, restaurants, clubs, catering
establishments, the Security Forces and independent candidates. This
year the Guild has opened its doors to an apprentice competition, which
will permit students or apprentices who are 25 years and below as at
July 30 to participate.
In view of the Culinary Olympics in 2016, two new categories have
been included and these are a vegetarian three-course menu and Tapas
Fingerfood and Buffet Platter. |
