Maradana police commended

Chief Inspector Lucian Sooriyabandara with OIC, Traffic,
Inspector Wimal Jayaratne hand over the cash to Abubaker at the
Maradana Police Station. PCs Asoka and Herath are also in the

The Maradana police station came in for high praise recently after an
unidentified man handed over a bag containing several items, to the
Traffic OIC, Wimal Jayaratne.
The police officers who examined the bag found Rs.500,000 in cash and
a cash cheque for Rs.500,000.
The Maradana police traced the owner within a few hours.
The following morning on July 14, the Chief Inspector Lucian
Sooriyabandara, OIC, Maradana police, handed over the bag to the owner,
Anis Abubaker of No. 2 Jayantha Mawatha, Kolonnawa in the presence of
police constables Asoka and Herath. |
