Construction Expo 2014 launched

Construction Expo 2014, will be held from June 20-22, 2014 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre (SBMEC) Colombo.

Over the years the exhibition has been one of the most sought after for people looking for different facets related to the construction industry, products and service providers related to the industry. The exhibition is a comprehensive platform to meet new consumers and exchange technologies and services.

Construction Expo 2014, will also feature a 'World Construction Symposium' with foreign construction giants due to participate.

"The symposium will focus on sustainable and green construction. Delegations from China, India and prestigious universities the world over have confirmed their participation at the event," said President of the Ceylon Institute of Builders (CIOB), Dr. Rohan Karunarathne.

"This will be one of a kind with almost every stakeholder related to the industry being present. The consumers have grown to look at the exhibition as a one-stop-shop to meet their needs and many consumers do all their purchases, inquiries and other related work at the exhibition. Therefore, this exhibition is set to draw one of the most focused visitor profiles, he said.

The Ministry of Engineering, Common amenities and Construction Services, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Land and Land Development, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Labour and Labour Development will also participate.

Concurrent to the event, 'Construction and Machinery Equipment Asia' will showcase, machinery and equipment service and products providers to facilitate all consumers, visitors and exhibitors with modern equipment related to the construction industry.

Exhibition Organising Committee, Chairman, Mahanama Jayamanne said the exhibition should not be missed by consumers, stakeholders, product and service providers and others interested in the industry.

"This is a one-of-a-kind event that will bring together a diverse array of visitors and has been renowned for ensuring that participants are provided with everything they are seeking with regard to the construction industry.

The event will be one of the most comprehensive exhibitions to be held in the country with each and every facet of the industry being showcased," he said.
