SLT partners ICTA to host WSA 2013
Sri Lanka Telecom PLC (SLT) will partner the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka
(ICTA) in hosting the World Summit Award (WSA) 2013. The WSA Global
Congress 2013 will be held in Colombo from October 23-26.

Hosted by ICTA, the global event will be a fast-paced, featuring 40
outstanding application developers, more than 60 high-profile speakers
and up to 100 international delegates.
"SLT is happy to partner ICTA to host this event in Sri Lanka," Sri
Lanka Telecom, Group CEO, Lalith de Silva said.
"The conference will present the most creative mobile and web
applications from all over the world and discuss the crucial role of
e-Content for the global economy, environment, government, healthcare,
education and mobility," he said.
"Content is key for ICT Development and we are delighted to see some
of the world's best ICT Content developers and their products in Sri
Lanka," Silva said.
This year's WSA program will include panels, keynote sessions and
hands-on workshops about the Content industry, e-Learning, ICT and women
and emerging markets.
Leading ICT experts and high ranking representatives of governments
and the United Nations will attend the congress at the Kingsbury.
"The developers will demonstrate the richness and diversity of
e-Content around the globe. They will show that in an almost entirely
connected world, it takes quality content to fulfill the promises of the
information society," ICTA Chairman Prof. P. W. Epasinghe said.
The congress will also focus on social entrepreneurship and the role
that internet and mobile phones play in reaching the UN Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs). |
